User Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
Where required by applicable law, users below the age of majority in their jurisdiction must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Services.
Additional age restrictions for certain features. Some features that involve connection with, or visibility to, other people are restricted for users under 18:
- Cairns™ is available to adults (18 and older) only.
- Public or discoverable Story Passport™ profiles are not available to minors.
- Connected Stories does not permit a minor to openly connect with adults outside a trusted, guardian-approved relationship, and applies the most restrictive settings to accounts belonging to minors.
Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account. The Services use passwordless sign-in: rather than a password, you sign in by entering your email address and a one-time verification code we send to that email. When you register and maintain an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your information to keep it accurate
- Keep access to your email account secure, since it is used to sign you in
- Maintain the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it
- Notify NarraLife immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. NarraLife is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard access to your email or account.
User Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of your Content.
NarraLife does not claim ownership of the Content you create within Life Story Compiler. As between you and NarraLife, you retain all ownership rights in your:
- Memories
- Journal entries
- Voice recordings
- Photos
- Videos
- Story chapters
- Story Passports
- Reflections and other content you contribute
- Uploaded content
You grant NarraLife only the limited, non-exclusive rights necessary to store, process, transmit, and display your Content for the sole purpose of operating and providing the Services to you. This license terminates when you delete the relevant Content or close your account, except to the extent the Content has been shared by you with others or where retention is required by law.
Intellectual Property
The Services and all materials within them — including Life Story Compiler, the NarraLife name, logos, software, source code, interfaces, designs, algorithms, and proprietary technologies such as the Memory Graph, Story Threads™, Turning Points, Patterns, Story DNA™, Witness™, Cairns™, Continuum™, and Story Passport™ features — are owned by NarraLife, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
The Services are proprietary and are not open-source software. No ownership of or title to the Services is transferred to you. You are granted only a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable right to access and use the Services for their intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or required by applicable law, you may not, and may not permit any third party to:
- Copy, reproduce, modify, or create derivative works of any part of the Services
- Distribute, publish, republish, redistribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the Services or any portion of them
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, structure, or underlying ideas of the Services, except to the limited extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law
- Scrape, crawl, spider, harvest, data-mine, or use any bot or automated means to access, monitor, copy, or extract data or content from the Services
- Use the Services, or any data or content obtained from them, to build, train, or improve any competing product, service, or machine-learning model
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Services
- Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice contained in or displayed by the Services
- Access the Services through any means other than the interfaces and instructions that we provide
All rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms are reserved by NarraLife LLC.

Artificial Intelligence and Narrative Processing
The Services use artificial intelligence to help you understand, organize, and preserve your life story. AI may analyze your Content to generate:
- Story chapters and narrative summaries
- Recurring themes, Story DNA, and Life Momentum insights
- Memory Graph relationships between events, people, and places
- Story Confidence Scores
- Character Evolution insights
- Narrative Forecasts and suggested future chapters
- Story Passports, at your direction
- Weekly and annual story summaries, and the unified "Your Story" experience
- Adaptive questions in the guided voice interview, which are turned into draft entries for your review
- Continuum reflections (a grounded reconstruction of your past or future self)
- Kindred responses, which let you ask questions about your own life story and receive answers drawn from the content you have captured (see "Kindred" below)
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, subjective, misleading, or incorrect.
NarraLife makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any AI-generated narratives, themes, scores, forecasts, or insights. You are solely responsible for reviewing and evaluating AI-generated outputs before relying on them.
We do not use your personal stories to train general-purpose AI models without your explicit, separate consent.
Kindred
Kindred lets you ask questions about your own life story and receive answers assembled from the Content you have captured — your entries, and where available your own voice recordings and photos. Kindred is currently available for your own personal use only.
How Kindred works, and its limits:
- It draws only from your own captured Content. Kindred does not add facts from outside your story, and it is limited to what you have actually recorded.
- It does not fabricate. Kindred does not invent memories, statements, events, or opinions. Where your Content does not answer a question, Kindred will indicate that rather than making something up.
- Your words remain your words. When Kindred surfaces something you wrote or recorded, it presents your actual words, voice, or photo. Any connective narration generated by AI is presented as narration and is not attributed to you as your own statement.
- No voice synthesis or cloning. Kindred plays back your actual recordings. It does not synthesize, clone, or artificially generate your voice, and it does not create audio of you saying things you did not record.
- AI outputs may still be imperfect. As with all AI features, Kindred's assembly, framing, and retrieval may be incomplete, mis-ordered, or mistaken. You are responsible for reviewing its outputs. NarraLife makes no representations or warranties regarding their accuracy or completeness.
Features not yet available. Any features that would allow other people — including family members, descendants, or designated recipients — to access or query your story, and any features intended to operate after a user's death, are not currently available and are not authorized by these Terms. If and when such features are offered, they will be subject to additional terms, separate and explicit consent, and their own controls.
No Professional Advice
Life Story Compiler is a personal storytelling and reflection tool. It does not provide and is not a substitute for professional advice. The Services do not provide:
- Medical advice
- Mental health advice or therapy
- Legal advice
- Financial advice
- Employment advice
All outputs from the Services, including AI-generated content, are provided for informational and personal reflection purposes only. You should consult a qualified professional for any medical, psychological, legal, financial, or employment matters. If you are in crisis or may be a danger to yourself or others, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.
Recording Features
Voice recording features — including voice journaling and the guided voice interview — require your explicit, affirmative consent before activation. A clear disclosure will be presented before any recording begins.
You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable recording, wiretapping, and privacy laws in your jurisdiction, including obtaining the consent of any other individuals who may be recorded.
Any passive listening functionality — if ever introduced — is strictly opt-in, disabled by default, and requires your separate, explicit authorization before activation.
Story Passports
Story Passports are curated views of your life story that you may choose to keep private or share with others. You control whether each Story Passport is:
- Private (only you — the default)
- Link-only (viewable by anyone who has the link you choose to share; not discoverable)
- Public (a discoverable profile; opt-in, and not available to minors)
You are solely responsible for the Content you choose to share through a Story Passport. Once you make Content available to others or to the public, NarraLife is not responsible for how third parties access, use, copy, or distribute that Content. You may restrict, change, or revoke access to a Story Passport at any time.
Social, Sharing, and Community Features
Where the Services offer social, sharing, or community features, you agree to use them responsibly and lawfully. You may not:
- Harass, bully, or intimidate others
- Threaten or incite violence against any person
- Dox or publish another person's private information
- Defame, libel, or make knowingly false statements about others
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Upload or share illegal, infringing, or harmful content
- Violate the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
The following features have specific terms:
Witness
You may invite people who shared an experience with you to contribute their own memories to a chapter. You are responsible for ensuring your invitations are appropriate and that you have a relationship with the invited person that makes the invitation suitable. Contributions are provided voluntarily by the contributor.
Cairns
Cairns lets you receive, and optionally leave, brief reflections connected to your current chapter of life. Reflections are shared one-way and anonymously; there is no live messaging or direct contact between users, and every reflection is screened before it is delivered. Cairns is available to adults (18+) only. You agree not to submit content that is harmful, harassing, or unlawful. Cairns is not a substitute for professional help; where appropriate, supportive resources will be surfaced.
Connected Stories
Connected Stories lets you connect your story with a specific family member or friend. Connecting requires both people to agree and, by itself, shares nothing. Any sharing is explicit, previewed, independent in each direction, and revocable at any time. Shared Moments require both people's consent. Stories are never merged — each person always owns and controls their own. You agree to respect content shared with you and not to copy, redistribute, or misuse it.
NarraLife reserves the right, but is not obligated, to review, remove, or restrict any Content that violates these Terms, at its sole discretion and without prior notice.
FamilySearch Integration
If you choose to connect a FamilySearch account, you authorize the Services to read information about your ancestors to help anchor your life story within your family lineage, and — only when you choose — to publish your own stories and photos to your person in the FamilySearch Family Tree. Contributions to FamilySearch are always initiated by you, limited to your own Content, and shown to you for confirmation before anything is sent. Your use of FamilySearch is also subject to FamilySearch's own terms and policies. You may disconnect the integration at any time.
Subscriptions and Billing
The Services are offered under multiple membership tiers, including a free tier (Origin) and paid tiers (Journey and Legacy). Features and limits vary by tier.
Origin (Free)
Origin provides access to core features at no cost, subject to any usage limits described within the Services.
Journey and Legacy (Paid)
Paid tiers unlock additional features and capacity. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) according to the plan you select.
Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. NarraLife may change subscription pricing or plan features with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of a paid plan after a price change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are also subject to the applicable store's terms, and billing and refunds for those purchases are handled by the respective store.
Account Termination
NarraLife may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Services, with or without notice, for reasons including:
- Fraud or misrepresentation
- Abuse of the Services or other users
- Illegal conduct
- Security risks to the Services or other users
- Violations of these Terms
You may terminate your account at any time from the Settings screen or by contacting us. Termination does not relieve you of any obligations incurred prior to termination.
Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. Upon a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period.
Where you have shared Content with others (for example, through a Story Passport or Connected Stories), disconnecting or revoking access stops further access going forward. Certain information may be retained where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or for a limited period within routine backup systems before those backups are overwritten.

Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL NARRALIFE, LLC OR ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, BUSINESS, OPPORTUNITIES, DATA, OR MEMORIES, OR FOR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, HOWEVER ARISING, THAT RESULT FROM:

- (E) ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR ACCOUNT, CONTENT, OR DATA; OR
- (F) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE SERVICES.
THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ON WHICH THE CLAIM IS BASED, WHETHER CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, AND EVEN IF NARRALIFE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF NARRALIFE, LLC AND ITS AFFILIATES AND LICENSORS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100), OR (B) THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FEES YOU ACTUALLY PAID TO NARRALIFE UNDER THESE TERMS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTH PERIOD IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE DATE THE CLAIM AROSE.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS OR LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY. ONLY THE DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATIONS THAT ARE LAWFUL IN YOUR JURISDICTION WILL APPLY TO YOU, AND NARRALIFE'S LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
User Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless NarraLife, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, agents, licensors, successors, and assigns (the "Indemnified Parties") from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, actions, proceedings, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, debts, and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees and costs) arising out of or related to:
- Your access to, use of, or activities in connection with the Services;
- Your violation of these Terms or any policy incorporated by reference;
- Your violation of any applicable law, rule, or regulation;
- Your violation or alleged violation of the rights of any third party, including intellectual property, copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, contractual, or other rights;
- Any Content you submit, record, upload, import, store, publish, share, or transmit through the Services, including entries, voice recordings, photographs, and artifacts;
- Any recording you upload, including any claim that the recording was unlawfully obtained or that a required participant did not consent to being recorded;
- Any statement in your Content concerning, or any dispute with, another person, including family members, former spouses, employers, colleagues, public figures, or other third parties, and any claim of defamation, false light, invasion of privacy, or misappropriation of likeness arising from your Content;
- Any claim that your Content is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading;
- Any invitation you send, connection you make, or access you grant through the Services (including Witness™, Connected Stories™, and any sharing of a Story Passport™);
- Your reliance on any AI-generated output; or
- Any access to or use of the Services through your account or credentials.
NarraLife reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with NarraLife's defense of such claim. You will not settle any claim affecting an Indemnified Party without NarraLife's prior written consent. This indemnification obligation survives termination of these Terms and your account.
Export Control
You agree to comply with all applicable export control and economic sanctions laws and regulations. You represent that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country or on any list of restricted parties subject to applicable export or sanctions restrictions, and that you will not use or export the Services in violation of such laws.
Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising from or relating to them or the Services shall be governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at contact@lifestorycompiler.com and make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally. Most concerns can be resolved this way.
Mediation
If an informal resolution cannot be reached, the parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute through non-binding mediation before pursuing further remedies.
Arbitration
Where permitted by applicable law, any remaining dispute may be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except for claims that may be brought in small-claims court.
Class Action Waiver
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you and NarraLife agree that disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, and both parties waive any right to participate in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
Confidentiality of Disputes
These Terms do not require that any dispute, or its resolution, be kept confidential. After a dispute arises, the parties may separately agree in writing to keep specified information, or the resolution of the dispute, confidential. Nothing in these Terms limits either party's right to disclose information as required by law.
Changes to These Terms
NarraLife may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by displaying a notice within the app, sending a notification to your registered email address, or requesting your acknowledgment where required by law.
The "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
